Short answer
Yes. Richmond Dental Care is open every Saturday from 9am to 3pm, as well as Tuesday and Wednesday. You can book cleanings, exams, fillings, crowns and other routine care on a Saturday, and we see same-day emergencies during those hours when you call first. We are closed Sunday and have no after-hours line, so for weekend problems outside our hours, use first aid and call when we open, or go to the ER for serious symptoms.

Our three days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, 9am to 3pm. We are closed Monday, Thursday and Sunday; Friday is an admin day (9am–3pm), with no patient appointments. Why do Saturday appointments matter for families?
Cleanings work best when they happen on schedule. When every open slot clashes with work shifts and school pickup, a six-month visit easily slides to a year or more. Small problems, like a cavity that could have been a simple filling, have more time to grow.
A Saturday visit means no missed school and no time off work. Many families book back-to-back appointments so parents and kids are all seen in one trip. Our family dentistry covers everyone from age 1 through seniors.

What about kids who need a filling or have a toothache?
We can help. Along with exams and cleanings, fluoride and sealants, we do fillings and extractions for kids right here, Saturdays included. For a toothache, call first so we can fit your child in. We use local anesthetic only, so if a child needs sedation for treatment, we refer you to a pediatric dentist.
Is it an emergency, or can it wait for a regular visit?
Not every dental problem needs a same-day visit. This guide can help you decide.
Usually fine to book a regular appointment
- A small chip with no pain
- A crown that came off but does not hurt (keep the crown)
- Mild sensitivity that is not getting worse
- A lost filling with no pain
Call for a same-day visit during our hours
- Tooth pain that keeps getting worse or wakes you up
- Swelling of the gum or a pimple-like bump near a sore tooth
- A broken tooth with sharp edges or pain
- An adult tooth that was knocked loose or knocked out. A knocked-out tooth has the best chance if it is put back within about an hour, so call right away.

Go to the ER or call 911
- Facial swelling that is spreading, especially toward the eye or neck
- Trouble breathing or swallowing
- High fever with a dental infection
- Bleeding that will not stop with firm pressure
- A possible broken jaw
What should you do if a problem starts when we are closed?
We do not have an after-hours line. If something happens on a Saturday evening, a Sunday or another day we are closed, try these steps and call us when we open:
- Toothache: rinse with warm salt water, floss gently around the tooth, and take an over-the-counter pain reliever as the label directs.
- Swelling: hold a cold pack on the outside of your cheek for 15 to 20 minutes at a time.
- Knocked-out adult tooth: pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse it briefly, then put it back in the socket or keep it in milk. See an ER or any open dentist as soon as you can.
- Lost crown: keep it safe and avoid chewing on that side.

When to call us
Call first thing Saturday, Tuesday or Wednesday morning if you have tooth pain, gum swelling, a broken tooth or a lost crown, so we can try to see you the same day. If you have spreading facial swelling, trouble breathing or swallowing, or a high fever, go to the ER instead. Call (832) 612-2831 — we’re open Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, 9am–3pm.

Yes. We accept all PPO plans, Medicare Advantage plans with dental benefits, and children’s Texas Medicaid and CHIP plans from DentaQuest, MCNA and UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Dental. Benefits are verified before your visit.
Please call first. Saturdays fill up, and calling lets us plan time for you, especially for an emergency.
No. We are closed on Sunday. For serious symptoms such as spreading swelling or trouble breathing, go to the ER. For anything else, call us when we open on Tuesday.
