Will oral surgery hurt?
All procedures are performed under local anaesthetic — no pain during surgery. Soreness and mild swelling for a few days afterward are normal.
Varies by procedure. Simple extractions allow normal activity within 1–3 days. More complex procedures may require longer recovery.
For procedures under local anaesthetic only, you can drive yourself. We advise any restrictions at your pre-surgical consultation.
Many procedures are partially covered by PPO dental insurance. Some may also be covered by medical insurance. We navigate both for you.
We evaluate at your exam. Erupted wisdom teeth are often manageable in our office. Severely impacted cases may require referral to an oral surgeon.
Specific instructions are provided based on your procedure. Generally — eat normally beforehand and arrange transport if recommended.
